Handmade vegan artisan soaps, bath salts and scrubs.
Full-time worker, devoted soapmaker
Anamika works full time, and still she finds the hours to make soap. Boho Handmade Soaps grew out of that stubborn arithmetic — the days that already belonged to a job, and the evenings and weekends she claimed back for soaps and bath soaks made by hand in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is clear about what it is and is not: "this is not just a hobby, it's my passion." The work does not wait for a quieter season. It gets folded into the one she has.
Every soap she makes is vegan. The soaps, the scrubs, the bath salts all start from organic and natural ingredients, mixed in small batches, and that is the part most people will never think to ask about. She knows. It is the detail she holds to whether or not anyone at the table notices the difference between a bar made this way and a bar made faster.
What keeps her going on the hard days is small and specific. A customer comes back to her market table just to say their skin feels better. Someone bought a bar as a gift, and now the friend wants one too. "That smile and kindness keeps me going on hard days." Underneath it all is a belief she states plainly: handmade is soul-made. She is building a little Boho corner in Halifax, a place where people can find beauty made with intention.

The bars people wash with daily
Boho Handmade Soaps' turmeric soap is the bar Halifax customers reach for first, a small-batch natural soap made by Anamika from natural and organic ingredients. What they tell her is less about the turmeric than about the after: skin that feels soft, a scent that settles them, and none of the tight, stripped feeling store soaps leave behind. That is why it keeps selling. People describe it as their little daily ritual, something they look forward to rather than something they use up.
The lavender soap and the exfoliating bars tie with it, and for the same reasons: soft skin, calming scents, no dryness.
Anamika started making soap during a time she felt anxious. Mixing scents and herbs became her meditation, and the practice stuck. Each bar is named after the feeling she needed at the time she made it, Calm, Ground, Glow, which is why a bar of soap from her Halifax kitchen reads more like a word she was holding onto than a label.

A Heartfelt Note
This started in my kitchen with organic oils, butters, herbs and a lot of heart. That is still where Boho Handmade Soaps comes from, here in Halifax, and it is still the part I love most.
Thank you for supporting my little dream. Thank you for being here and letting my creations be part of your self-care. It means the world. ~ Anamika
