Our pearl story
Two jewelry boxes weren't enough
Two jewelry boxes were no longer enough to hold the pearls Julie kept buying. In 2022 she was working a full-time job, raising a one-year-old and a three-year-old, and pearls had become more than something she wore. She was drawn to their irregular shapes and natural colors, the way no two looked quite the same, and designing jewelry became the way she carved out a little time for herself in days that were otherwise full.

Baroque freshwater pearl pieces
No two pearls grow the same, and that is the whole point. Julie's baroque freshwater pearls are sourced from her home country, China, where freshwater pearls form in a wider range than most people expect — stars, hearts, teardrops, and other natural shapes well beyond the classic white and round. She tells customers this herself, partly because she enjoys watching their surprise. Each piece is built around that individuality, balancing everyday wearability with something special enough for an occasion, so the design becomes a kind of mirror for the person wearing it.

She was drawn to the timeless beauty of pearls, especially their irregular shapes and natural colors, and what started as a personal obsession slowly became a creative outlet carved out of an already full life. Today, what keeps her going on tough days is hearing that a customer wore one of her pieces for a wedding, gave it as a meaningful gift, or simply feels more confident in it. She still gets excited every time she discovers a beautiful pearl or turns an idea in her head into a finished piece, working with irregular shapes and unusual color combinations rather than chasing trends.
