Built from a gap that two dog owners got tired of living with
Serenity and Brandon Dewitte are a multi-dog household with large breeds. They are also, as a result, exactly the kind of pet owners the premium end of the treat market does not design for.
Serenity had spent years at a specialty pet store. She came out of it with something specific: a working understanding of pet health, nutrition, and what quality ingredients actually look like. She also came out of it with a frustration she could not resolve. The products she knew were trustworthy were priced out of reach for everyday use. The products that fit a normal budget did not meet the standard she had learned to apply.
She wanted both. She kept looking. She kept not finding it.
When she and Brandon decided to build something around that gap, the brief was the same one they had been living with: quality ingredients, honest pricing, made for pet owners who are not buying for one small dog at a special occasion. Pawsitive Paws started in February 2025.

Freeze-dried walleye belly, protein-rich and minimally processed. The ingredient list is short because nothing else needs to be there.
Serenity and Brandon describe them as a high-value treat, and their own dogs made the case first. They were an immediate favourite at home, which is how everything they stock gets evaluated before it reaches anyone else's pet.
At markets, the response from other dogs has confirmed what their own animals already told them.

She knows what quality ingredients look like on a label and what they look like in a dog's response. She knows how pet owners make decisions at the shelf, what they worry about, and what they are willing to pay for when the product earns it. She also knows what it feels like to put something back because it doesn't.
Brandon brings the same standard from the owner side. Together, they run Pawsitive Paws less like a retail operation and more like an extension of their own household: if they wouldn't give it to their dogs, it doesn't belong in the business.
They are building something they wished had existed before they started looking. The repeat customers who come back to the market table, sometimes with their dogs, sometimes just to restock, are what tells them they are getting it right.
