Bringing People Together One Board at a Time
Presentation artist, family-run caterer
Amanda Martin spent years in the food service industry before Sweet Cheesus Charcuterie existed, and long before that she was a kid in grocery stores watching cake decorators work. The decorating held her attention; the baking never did. She was drawn to savory food instead, so much so that she once explored being a food photographer, the kind who shoots for marketing. "I was so blown away what they use to make food look amazing in magazines and menus."
She has spent her life watching cooking shows and learning everything she could about food presentation. That study is what she brings to every grazing board she builds. "It's like painting a picture for an artist, except I use real food!"
Quality is the line she won't cross. She won't put anything on a board that she wouldn't put on her own plate. Ask anyone who has worked beside her about the grapes: they have to have just the perfect crunch before they make an appearance.
Nothing beats the smiles when a board is delivered or a grazing table comes to life. She builds them to be a centerpiece that pulls people in, gets them mingling, trading stories, discovering a flavor they didn't expect. "Sharing joy through food is my passion, and those reactions make every early morning and late night worth it."
The business is woman-owned and family run out of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, started in 2021 and worked alongside her daughter. When people choose her for a wedding, a corporate event, a birthday, they are choosing a small operation she describes as "our little business that could," and she doesn't take that lightly. The dedication comes from the heart, and the customers are the reason she keeps going.
What she wants people to take from it is simple: you can never dream too big. Keep reaching for the stars. It's amazing what you can do when you just believe in yourself.
Wooden boards, built at home
The board that steals shows
Sweet Cheesus Charcuterie's best-selling grazing board, The Big Cheese, is three feet of handcrafted charcuterie built for a crowd: cheeses, meats, fruits, and treats packed edge to edge across the table. Amanda Martin builds it to be looked at first and eaten second. It absolutely stole the show.
What keeps it in demand is what happens after the first guest reaches in. Every bite delivers, people couldn't stop talking about it, and by the end of the night there wasn't a crumb left. It truly knows how to make a statement, and in Dartmouth it has become the centerpiece clients ask for by name.

A Heartfelt Note
As a small business, every order means more than you know. you're not only choosing my company but you are supporting my dream and showing my little one how you can do the big things to create the big dreams and succeed. I'm truly grateful for the support and for allowing me to be a part of your special moment. I put my heart into every board, and I hope it brings as much joy to your gathering as it brings me to create it.
